Free flying raptors such as the wild populations or falconry birds and to a limited extent educational raptors can suffer from traumatic injuries. Identifying the type of injuries (impact injuries, broken bones, lacerations, bite wounds, eye injuries, allergic reactions and electrocutions are examples) and stabilizing the injured bird until veterinary care can be sought will be addressed. A detailed first aid kit for use in the field or at the center will be presented with explanation of how to properly use the contents of the first aid kit.
